Traffic Safety – Engineering is competing in the Road Commission for Oakland County’s “Guess How Much Snow We’ll Get” challenge. This contest is for Traffic Safety – Engineering employees only. Entry is free, and the official data source is the White Lake Township station on https://www.rcc-acis.org/home.
How to Enter
Use the form on the home page.
Participation is limited to Traffic Safety – Engineering employees; one submission per person.
Submit a single guess (to one decimal place, for example 50.1) for total seasonal snowfall.
Total seasonal snowfall is defined as July 2025 through June 2026.
Provide predictions for the five Holiday Spotlight dates by calling whether snowfall occurs on each day (Yes/No only — no snow total guess required).
Scoring & Winners
Seasonal Total: Winners are determined by the absolute closest prediction to the verified seasonal total (closest to actual, whether over or under). Guesses are judged to one decimal place.
Holiday Spotlight: For each of the five spotlight holidays, entrants make a Yes/No call on whether measurable snow (≥0.1") occurs that day. All entrants who call the outcome correctly split the holiday pot equally.
Ties for any seasonal or holiday category share the relevant recognition and prize money.
Verification & Prize
Official totals are taken from the NOAA ACIS White Lake 4E station (SID 208941).
Trace amounts (“T”) count as 0.0 in the totals.
The seasonal champion earns a $35 grand prize.
Each Holiday Spotlight has a $10 pot. Entrants must call the snow/no-snow outcome correctly to remain eligible; qualifying winners split the pot evenly.
Prize payouts will be made no later than the end of April.
